Alongside studying my degree at NTU I have been a sports scholar, playing hockey for my country and in the Premier League. This variety of interests has led me to focus on functionality and outdoor/sportswear over my time here. This culminated in Clean Approach - a fashion focused collection of knitted textiles that takes inspiration from the juxtaposition of natural vs synthetic in regards to the outdoor environment and landscape and the equipment we use to enjoy them. There is a focus on sustainability with merino wool at the heart of the project, commenting on the negative environmental impact some outdoor performance technologies can have. With a view to pursuing a career in trend forecasting or buying this year, for my 35% DCC I have created and curated a hypothetical exhibition named Authenticity at The Crux which portrays the rise of Gorpcore over recent years, its relationship with the global pandemic and comments on the authenticity of the trend.
