Jacqima Rios is a contemporary abstract artist born in Gibraltar and is currently residing in Nottingham, United Kingdom. Rios studied on the Art & Design Foundation course at Bath Spa University in September 2018. She then went on to study a BA(Hons) in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University in 2019 and will be graduating in July 2022. Rios hopes to further her career by obtaining a master’s degree. In February 2018, she received a status of highly commended for an artwork at the Gibraltar Young Arts competition. In May 2018 Rios went on to win the Best Young Artist award at the Gibraltar spring Visual Arts exhibition and the following year she also won the People’s choice - a publicly voted award. In 2021 Rios held a collaborative installation held at One Thoresby Street Gallery in Nottingham.
