‘That’s not very ladylike’ is a unisex fashion collection that explores some of the common stereotypes surrounding the female gender. A key aim of this project is to inspire people to talk about topics such as periods, sexuality and femininity, while also relating to women through other peoples’ misogynistic views. By combining digital embroidery and print, with hand techniques such as appliqué and beading, there is an illustrative and graphic style that compliments the bold and bright colour palette. Hoodies, t-shirts, outerwear and shirts are the inspired application for this project in order to appeal to a high-end, gender neutral audience.
