I am a photographer based in Nottingham, UK. My practice includes a portfolio of commercial fashion work and a project I have developed over the past year of this MA. My fashion portfolio contains a balance of studio and location imagery that features a varied mix of collaborations and aesthetics. The project, Beyond Conventions, is based on the exploration of the female gaze and the surrounding issues involving the objectification of women and how extensions of eco feminism could provide obstruction to male patriarchy. The main aim of Beyond Conventions is to continually investigate the relationship between women and nature in response to British patriarchal society and the shift photographers can create from male gaze customaries to female gaze acculturation from a female point of view to depict female gaze.
