ORGANIC CIRCULARITY is my final year project, centred around my passion for sustainability in relation to food. ORGANIC CIRCULARITY aims to inform others about our wasteful habits promoting ways we could become more resourceful in the future within the fashion and textile industry. Sustainability has been a key theme throughout my project, my personal aim being to show how we can use waste to create new materials. Food is something we all eat and we all waste. It is thrown away and discarded because it is past a best before date or imperfect. Trying to address this, I used historical methods to explore ways I could use food waste to produce natural dyes in conjunction with contemporary processes utilising waste fruit and vegetables to create sheets of materials. My work is often multidisciplinary, I enjoy being hands on, learning new techniques, aided by photography, CAD and print design.
