Alexandra Barnsley
Alexandra Barnsley is a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design student at NTU. Her interest in fashion and womenswear has allowed her to thrive in design and development processes, creating new ways to deliver contemporary and conceptual designs from initial concepts to completed products. Supported by design knowledge and in-depth skills in manufacturing, pattern cutting and adobe suite, she has a desire to gain experience in a design assistant role once she graduates. Inspired by the Bond Girl, Alex’s final major project looks at her character as an archetype for feminism and liberation during the time of the women’s movement and sexual revolution. Combining elements from Bond Girl costumes and 1960s/80s styles to develop a slow fashion collection of relaxed, utilitarian style silhouettes and feminine-masculine design aesthetics for the contemporary woman.
