I am a designer specialising in embroidery and sustainable textiles. My graduate collection The Sanctuary draws upon the growing need for a sense of calm, aiming to encapsulate the emotion power of colour and material and bring comfort and connection into our homes. Primarily inspired by biophilic design and the idea of bringing the outdoors in, The Sanctuary takes inspiration from the wild open spaces of Northern England, translating the shapes and textures of the land, and its flora, into tactile embroidery designs suited to domestic interiors. Sustainability underpins all of my work, with an aim to design with the environment in mind, making use of organic fibres and slow craft techniques to create textiles and spaces with meaning, value and connection. Having experience working on live projects for Joules and ROMO, I’d love to work within interior design, creating inspiring colour stories and concepts whilst also continuing my love for craft as an independent designer-maker.
