Lily Farquharson
As a final year student I have experimented and challenged myself within the realm of womenswear. The development of my work and ideas has expanded upon purely Fashion Design, and this has been encouraged by my ever-growing interests in Styling and Creative Direction which have been key tools to my creative exploration. I worked as an assistant to Lingerie Designer, Rossell England, which influenced my interest in contour throughout my work and in combination with my wide knowledge of Womenswear has refined my ideas to create wearable garments for my female zeitgeist. My final project was inspired by my Uncle, Petr Weigl's work as an artist working with concrete sculpture which I have juxtaposed to delicate undergarments. This conceptual contrast has encouraged my experimentation, building substance from fragility and de-constructing robust structures throughout a variation of styling exercises to visualise my final product range.
