Bekah-Joy Kerr
With an interest in historical textiles and a passion for technical knitting, fashion knitwear design student Bekah-Joy Kerr has explored themes of consumption and excessivism to create an archive style collection. GREED explores the over-indulgent and ostentatious habits of Tudor monarchs to provide a narrative on consumption in the 21st century. Taking inspiration from Gothic Revival architecture, Vanitas art, and the ideology behind Memento Mori, the collection aim was to create knitted 'fragments' displayed in a travelling archive/ exhibition-in-a-box. Upon graduating, Bekah-Joy is considering a Masters degree in textile conservation.
