In the past year, many of us have spent more time outdoors and realised the benefits this can have on us. Titled ‘Reconnect’ this project explores our connection to nature and how this can positively influence our wellbeing. The collection of printed textiles inspired by the landscape aims to evoke the sense of calm and serenity felt in the natural environment. Mindfully engaging with the landscape through drawing has been a key element to this project. This process created drawings rooted in my concept of wellbeing through slowing down and becoming more aware of my surroundings. Creating designs that capture the colours, marks and mood of the landscapes I have been experiencing. The final collection of printed textiles were displayed in the landscape to capture them in the places where the initial inspiration came from and create a sense of tranquillity.
