Ericka Peachey
I am a textile artist and embroidery technician based in Nottingham. I work with a variety of techniques including digital embroidery, hand embroidery and cyanotype printing. My work focuses on the role textiles, clothing and fabrics play in invoking memory and connections to personal histories. I interpret different ways of capturing the passage of time by using stitch journaling, photography, cyanotype printing and visual and written documentation. As well as taking an autoethnographic approach to my textile work, I am also interested in understanding other people’s connections to clothing and fabrics and how this relates to sustainability and emotional durability.
